FAQs

What’s the difference between a Tier 1 and Tier 2 pitch deck design?

Outside of the price difference (Tier 1 is £300 per page and Tier 2 is £400 per page), the main difference is based on you. Tier 1 is for clients who have a pretty fixed idea of what they want their pitch deck to contain, such as what’s on each page, exactly what content to include and a rough outline of the general layout and flow they desire. In short, you tell us what you want, including the text and any images you’d like to feature and we’ll put it together for you. You also get the chance to make one set of revisions for free.

Tier 2 is different. This is for people who would prefer to talk to one of our experienced business consultants ahead of time, working with them to get ideas, insights and suggestions of what your pitch deck should and likely shouldn't include. Our consultant will have had experience in both pitching investors and being pitched themselves. This means that they will attempt to understand exactly what you want your pitch deck to get across to its target audience, along with your preferred outcome or goal - helping you in creating the very best deck based on those factors. In this tier, you also get two sets of revisions for free included - one more than in the tier below.

If you’re still unsure about what tier is best for you, no problem - just get in touch!

How long will my investor deck take to create?

You will receive a first draft of your pitch deck within 7-10 working days. If you have revisions to make, this can add another 7 working days to your timeline - although if the revisions are minimal, that time can be much shorter.

For those people that require an express turnaround, it is possible to receive your pitch deck in 48 - 72 hours with our express turnaround service, for an additional £650 per deck.

How do I get across what I want to a designer?

For Tier 1, once you’ve made your order, you will receive a template document. This will allow you to;

  • Write down page by page what you’d like the content to be from a text and sections perspective

  • Include any logos, graphics or images that you desire - but if you don’t have any, we will find them for you!

  • Give any thoughts or guidelines you might have about colour scheme, look or feel (corporate, fun etc)

  • Let us know any areas that you’re stumped for ideas on and anything else that you want include or avoid.

For Tier 2, we will give you the option of either filling in a simple form OR talking it over with your consultant, helping you to co-create it with them, via whatever medium of communication you prefer.

Can you provide other add-ons like videos, audio, logo creation, photos and infographics?

The simple answer is… YES! We work with several video production and design companies, so will outsource your video, audio or logo work to them if it’s required, negotiating the best prices for you in the process. Or, at the very least, we will tell you what you should be paying and why, if you decide to go with another supplier. However, we have very good news…

We have a HUGE catalogue of video, audio, photos and infographics in-house, meaning that in most situations (unless what you want to completely new and bespoke), we can fill your pitch deck with additional content like this at zero extra cost.

Video is slightly different for technical reasons. As we provide pitch decks to you as flat PDF files, playable video links will not open in them. Yet, this doesn’t mean that we don’t have a wonderful solution for you - read below.

Can you do moving, animated decks with playable video and sound?

Yes we can! Some clients want two versions of the same pitch deck, having one as a flat PDF file with static images and text and a second, with playable videos and moving or animated graphics or images. However others simply want the second option alone. Whatever is right for you, we can certainly offer. The only caveat is that due to the more complex nature of these types of fully animated pitch decks or presentations, we will need to speak with you first and understand exactly what you want before giving a quote - so just get in touch!

How does a mock pitch work?

Great question. A mock pitch is exactly like a real pitch but with zero REAL stakes - if you get something wrong or your presentation still needs some additional ‘polish’. These pitches are done over video call to a real life venture capitalist or investor. They will listen to you in an identical way to which they would for an actual investor pitch, providing you with the exact same level of ‘push back’, if they have questions. The only difference is, after the call, they will then let you know exactly what parts of your presentation got them most excited, which bits made them somewhat concerned and provide suggestions of how to alter your approach. In short, for those looking to make a real pitch soon… this is an unmissable service.

Better still, if you decide to make changes to your pitch deck based on mock pitch feedback, we can do that at the same per page rate as your original deck. For example, if you purchased a Tier 2 deck and later, your mock-pitch makes you realise that you should replace ‘page 6’ with something else entirely for example, that change will only cost you an extra £400. Easy peasy!

How do you investor introductions work?

Similar to our mock-pitch service, we have active investors all over the globe. These guys and girls, who are ready to invest into the next great business or big idea, are ‘on speed dial’ to WayAboveDeck.Com, ready to hear from you. They, along with many of their business associates and contacts, make up a vast network of venture capital funds and private finance, all with the potential to fund your venture. In short… we’d like to introduce you to them!

However, as there is rarely any way of truly knowing for sure what will or won’t get investment, we like to do things in a way that works fairly for all sides;

  1. We look at your business, venture or idea internally to decide who the right person (or people) would be for a potential investment.

  2. If we believe that we know them and how to make that introduction, we come back to you with our offer.

  3. This offer will either be:

    • A flat fee (50% paid ahead of an introduction, 25% paid after your first one and 25% only paid if an investment is made)

      OR

    • A small percentage of any capital raised (with no cost to you unless you get investment)

Important: We cannot always proceed with all businesses or pitches, no matter how much we love them. To make this service as valuable as possible to both our clients and network of investors, we can only take on investor introductions for the projects, businesses or people that we firmly believe we have a real chance of assisting. If we are unable to work with you, this is in no way a slight on you, your business or idea. If we don’t believe that we can help, we won’t waste your time or money - simple.

Do I need to buy a deck from you to get an investor introduction?

Cheeky! Just kidding, the answer is… no. We are happy to make introductions to investors even if you purchased a pitch deck from another company. The only thing we will charge if you haven’t brought a pitch deck from us, is an upfront fee of £500 to get to know your business first. As you’ll understand, our investor introduction service can be a magnet for time wasters and scammers. As a result, we’ve learned (the hard way) that a £500 fee lessens this greatly. This fee is non-refundable if we don’t believe we can help, but we will aim to give some clear details and reasons why. However…

If you have purchased a pitch deck from us… great! We already know your business and you, therefore no £500 fee is required. Jackpot!
